Gina Ruffcorn is in her eighteenth year of teaching at West Harrison Community School in Mondamin, Iowa. Over the years she has taught: highschool credit recovery, middle school, Reading Recovery, first, and sixth grade before she found her forever home in fifth grade. She has been the one and only 5th grade teacher in the district for thirteen years and counting.


Gina has a Bachelor's Degree from Buena Vista University in Storm Lake Iowa and a Masters degree in literacy and 21st century technologies from the University of Nebraska in Omaha.


Gina was one of the original founding members of Skype Master Teachers. She spent seven years as a Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert and a Global Learning Mentor. Currently she is a GoNoodle Ambassador, a Kahoot Ambassador and a Kahoot Verified Educator.

 
In her spare time Gina likes to yak on the phone with her daughter, Miranda, ride motorcycles with her husband, Mark, and watch bad reality TV with her three cats, Vivian, Dennis and Simon.
